Joe Bone Bane III

Thu 16 Sep, 6.30pm
Pavilion Theatre bar

Joe Bone’s one-man show Bane is an hilarious genre parody inspired by hard-boiled detective stories and classic film noir.

When it first premiered at Brighton Festival Fringe 2009, it won the Fringe Review Outstanding Theatre Award before transferring to Edinburgh where its sell-out run received a Stage nomination for Best Solo Performance. You can catch Bane at Brighton Dome in November – click here.

For In Process / In Performance, Joe will present extracts from the third piece in the trilogy.

Free, but limited availability. If you would like to attend, e-mail ad@brightondome.org including “Work in Progress: Bane III” in the subject line.

Just back from Edinburgh where Joe was performing Bane parts 1 & 2 to sold out houses and getting lots of interest from promoters – some of them international. Great that Brighton gets a sneak preview of Bane 3.

  2. We’re really looking forward to presenting this work at the Brighton Dome, and I’m both delighted and daunted by the speed in which this evening has arrived! Bane 3 will be the next part in the story of Bruce Bane but will exist autonomously as a stand alone show.

(Bruce Bane is a hired hand with a gravel voice and a penchant for violence, the performance uses mime, sound effects, multiple character acting and is sound tracked live.)

If you’re in the vicinity please come down and see this as I’m hoping to get as much feedback as possible because I’ll be trying stuff that I’ve never done before and I’d like to know if it works – the performance will last approx 20mins so come on down and let us know what you think.

That was another fantastic electrifying performance from Joe Bone – can’t wait to see the full show.

We were talking afterwards about whether you need to see previous Banes to follow it. I don’t think you do, though if you have seen the earlier ones, you get more references.

    The music was also wonderful
